Jessica Murphy, CNM
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin and found her passion for women’s health while working in a community based birthing center as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua. Upon her return, she started her graduate coursework in nursing and midwifery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then became a registered nurse and provided care to women as a postpartum and labor and delivery nurse at Prentice Women’s Hospital. She graduated with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2013 and has been practicing as a nurse-midwife in Chicago ever since.
Jessica is passionate about helping women make informed decisions about their healthcare and enjoys seeing women throughout their lifespan. Her particular interests are in breastfeeding, family planning including long acting reversible contraception, nutrition, and helping women and their families achieve their desired birth experiences. When not at work, Jessica enjoys running, biking, yoga, cooking and most of all spending time with her family especially her two young children who were both born into the hands of midwives.
